I think I know what the problem is, it's the British customs. I've had some sound equipment repaired by a specialist in the UK and customs retained it for more than a month!!
Mind you, I'm in Portugal so they started doing this even for packages from within the EU... Even more amazing, when the item was returned they retained it for more than a month again. And you never know what X-Ray scanning or whatever they're gonna use, if you have media that can get screwed by that you're on your own..
This wasn't the only experience like this I've had with them so not buying from UK again, sorry, nothing personal (quite the other way actually, quite like the British...) but they've screwed it for me.. Search around google and you'll find thousands of stories like this, apparently it was because of terrorism or something, but maybe also to control illegal trading.
So if you want it fast, just order within the EU and outside the UK.
