Using AOS3.9's scsi.device on 3.1 .......
« on: November 07, 2003, 12:34:41 PM »
20gb hd on standard ide port

Has anyone managed to do that?
scsi.device is in rom and it's patched by 3.9's SetPatch on boot up. If I use 3.9's SetPach it will patch other stuff eventhought there are probably options to set it up. But is there other more convenient way of doing this?

The goal is to overcome the 8Gb limit of the 3.1 scsi.device.
I have 3.9 CD but don't want to install it for now.

I know using an NSD compliant substitution device, like IDE-Fix solves the problem. But IDE fix requires a key and is no longer for sale.

Simply using 3.9´s FFS won't overcome the 8Gb limit of the old scsi.device.. ..
Damn I 'm becoming a pro in this myself 8-)

I prefer not to install 3.9 for now.

By the way, I wrotte all the above cause I knw someone would be suggesting it anyway....
So anyone managed to do it or not?
