Isn't there an oportunity with the G3/4 processors for a decent laptop?

Just another oportunity that's being thrown away. Those processors have lower power consumption than equivalent X86s , and would indeed give a nice laptop.
Yeah, no prototype to license...shame really.

But Transmeta's are not rivals. If the core for the  processors was out you could have a 68k (or ppc) at the same mhz as todays transmeta's  :-o  :-o
