Expanding my A4000D.
« on: March 09, 2006, 06:34:23 PM »
I recently purchased this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8770588914&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

and this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8774293505&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

I'm also about to get this too.

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=32&products_id=250&osCsid=7e769109ac13b21c9568395daa2fb6c6

and I would like a bit of help please.

First of all, will there be any issues with possible overloading my A4000D?  Power, heat, etc...

Second, with that video card can I use a TFT flat-panel of my choice or should I seek out a CRT with the full range of Amiga video choices?

Third, any other issues I should be aware of or configuration issues I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I forgot about that native resolution stuff with TFT's.  I don't really understand why they are that way.  Hmmmm...

Ok, I'll stick with a CRT then.

Thanks for the info.

Thanks AMIGAZ.  Great advice.  I've only got the standard CD-ROM and single floppy drive on my A4000D.  The other floppy bay is still covered.

Believe me, with the money I've spent on this computer I don't want to lose anything so all the advice given is much appreciated.
