Trying to bring back 'the good old times'!
« on: January 31, 2006, 06:41:37 PM »
Hi all!

Well after about 16yrs I decided to get my Amiga 500 Plus out of the loft after reminiscing with some friends.
Much to my disappointment it has a fault!
When the power is switched on the green LED on the Amiga flashes 10 times equally then 1 time slightly longer, and then continues to cycle in the same way. I have stripped the computer down and found that the 3.6V battery was corroded. I have replaced this but the fault is still present.
Can anybody please save me?
Thanks for your time. :-)

Hi

The battery leakage hasn't damaged the mobo... I've taken out every chip that's in a socket on the board and cleaned the legs of the chips and the sockets. I've made sure the chips are correctly inserted the right way and are seated correctly. I'm affraid the fault is still there. :-?

I thought that this sequence of flashing of the power LED maybe is an error code?

Thanks for the info...
I've tried re-soldering the Agnus chip's base also... Fault still present! :boohoo:

Guess that's probably it then!
Thanks for all your help anyway everyone  :-)

Yeah, I re-seated every chip possible. Guess I'll get another off ebay and keep my faulty 500 for spares...
