A2000 power supply fan
« on: February 11, 2006, 04:44:39 PM »
My fan has been making some noise so I decided to replace it with a standard PC case fan that was the same size.  The new case fan is powered via a 4 plug power passthrough (the kind that plugs into a hard drive).  I get everything put back together and power my A2000 on, but the machine turns on for a brief second and then kicks off.

I was scared that I had shorted and killed my machine, hehe.  I did some checking on the internet and found out that a fan HAS to be plugged into the fan plug in the power supply.  Put the old fan back in and everything is fine.

My question, is there any place I can get a fan that will plug into this connector?  Or am I better off cutting off the two prong connector and wiring that to a regular case fan?

Thanks for the assistance!
