Hyperterm is crap for telnet.
You would be better to use Syncterm as it supports telnet, ansi etc... for bbs use.
As has been said before, you need to forward the telnet port (23) in the router/adsl modem to the ip address of your amiga.

I *hate* how cnet does things... You can kill my login though, But it works...
