Some of the issues sound weird. There's a memtest command included with MorphOS, perhaps the way memory is configured is OK for OSX but MorphOS adjusts timing in a different way, maybe you should launch memtest to be 100% sure your issues are not memory related. Are your IDE cables 80-wire ones? Otherwise expect odd behaviour and weird crashes. It's weird that automatic install didn't work properly.

What's your PowerMac version?

You should download "grunch" to install more apps.

It may be a good idea to visit http://www.morphzone.org to contact more MorphOS users.

@Lurch

yep! I saw you already written in morphzone after replying you... anyway be sure your powermac uses 80wire cables and also invoke memtest from shell so it prints something like this:
memtest
Allocated memory at 0x375EFB40 -> 0x5C9F53BF, 624973952 bytes
Writing 0x00000000... 720 MB/sec.
Verifying 0x00000000... 354 MB/sec.
Writing 0xFFFFFFFF... 735 MB/sec.
Verifying 0xFFFFFFFF... 354 MB/sec.
Memory is ok!

you should do it from a clean boot (unlike my example).

if you enter #morphos channel at Freenode you'll find more users to talk to.
