Midnight Mystique
« on: May 28, 2005, 04:52:12 PM »
Hum,
If Darth Vader went to the Chelsea flower show he may be pleasantly surprised to see the very first black hyacinth on show….

The new plant, christened Midnight Mystique, marks the finding of one of horticulture's remaining holy grails, (though, out-romanced in most growers’ minds only by the elusive blue rose).

Michael Perry, of Thompson and Morgan, the Suffolk plant specialist which has produced rarities since 1855, said: "It is the first time a black hyacinth has ever been available commercially and the flower world is very, very excited about it."
