Hum,
nice choise,
Impressively they’ve used DDR PC3200 (400MHz) mem...

For the future: Adding another similar 256MB stick will (increase mem to 512mb :-)  ) really speed things up (duel channel etc)

Hum,
your mobo will take 266,333,400 mem.
But,
avoid using 3 differing sticks with that chipset as there is a good chance that you will get memory issues…

(and when they do work), the slow memory will bottleneck your whole system like, er, xp.... :-)

Those tiny delicate SATA cables are so cool looking....
But try to resist ; wait until sata HD speeds increase, next year, past IDE.

Hum,
i suppose he could change it two or three times a year for the same price as one `decent` 550W unit....

@adz
Tnx for correction, I forgot the kt600 doesn’t support dual channel ..

The main point of getting DDR 400 mem is that it will run cooler and more reliably, and you up the CAS rating to 2.5 or 2…and there is always the option to upgrade the 333 cpu later onto a 400mhz data rate one…
Check My Build...

But either way, 512mb is the minimum i`d run an xp machine with.

Exactly,

The computations to run a power plant or land on the moon, are just a `walk in the park` compared with the fiendishly difficult task of running XP...
