Any knowledgeable restaurant waiter will tell you that it’s about camouflaging themselves against sea predators.

hum,
from above they are hidden while swimming.
But it could be that it’s a flocking/social marker.

it is interesting to note that most seabirds are white, probably due to a visual indication to show the rest of the flock where the fish are...


He was having a bit of difficulty with his seafood...
