Is anyone else surprised at Amiga Inc seriously trying to sell a $1498.00 computer that won't even run Deluxe Paint 3? Compared to my 030 a1200 system, it feels like a bit of a downgrade.
If i buy a PC, i get a system still capable of running DOS programs. If i buy this new "amiga", it won't run most of the applications that made the original amigas so good.
It's not like it's impossible to make a new, powerful and compatible amiga. Computer companies like Digital Equipment Corporation have done similar things in the past. This whole thing just puts the competence of the people at Amiga Inc in doubt. Making a new compatible amiga with a large existing software base even makes a lot of business sense. No idea what these people at Amiga Inc are thinking.
