The current situation is so bad it's almost funny. two small groups of source/api and even binary (to some degree) compatible platforms which will not share code between them and each group making its own software.

Why go for the exclusivity thing, when the userbases are so small ?

Don't expect a 68k version of this btw. That would mean morphos people can run it, and I'm pretty sure the author would consider that terrible (no sfssalv etc for m68k - although I suppose it is at least something that the 68k version of the filesystem is still supported)

Politics aside (and ar5e to it, I say) I doubt it would perform in 68k. even with the vast improvements we're told about, I think (given my experience of its performance of v1.6) and thats on an 800MHz PPC. it may well do ok - even well - on a G2 (BPPC or CSPPC) but they're still streets ahead of even the 68060. Although I'd love to be proved wrong! although I don't expect to ever run it on my 1200 (see spec below!)

I agree a m68k version would be unlikely. But the point I was making was more a general one on attitudes. Like for example morphos has a browser which doesn't run on os4.

I browse on konqueror/firefox on a pc. works really well :)

Your a1200 config is great. perfect for games and many demos ;-)

But I'm not worried that Morphos doesn't have a good browser. I'm irritated that each platform has to have their own software as everyone is unwilling to work together. (Of course there are pleasant exceptions to this - yam/simplemail etc).

I don't run Morphos or OS4.
