Miami/AmiTCP and 3c589 issues.. Unable to open device..?

Hi...
I've been trying all day to get my a1200 connected to my network, with no success :/
Found a 3com EtherLink III (3c589c) card in a old laptop so i thought i'd give it a go. I've installed the 3c589.device driver and AmiTCP v2.2, but couldnt get it to work proper. It kept giving me error messages about not being able to open the network device. So i installed Miami v3.2b instead, but same problem there!
In Miami -> Interface -> SANA-II parameters you should be able to Query device to get MAC adress and such right? Well, i get this error mess when doing that:
"Miami is unable to open SANA-II device 'Devs:networks/3c589.device' unit 0."
..And about the same when trying to go online..
The card works fine in my laptop so there's nothing wrong with the card itself.
And yes, i've downloaded Cardreset and added it to the startup-sequence.. Still havent gotten around to add cardpatch yet though..

Got any ideas?

Hmm i have an accellerator card, no clue if its PCMCIA compatible. Why shouldnt it be?

No thats the only one i've got, but there's nothing wrong with it. It works fine in other computers.

allready have cardreset, don't seem to make any difference.

I don't know what card i've got. Cardprep won't tell me either, but the card shows up in the bootup config and seems to be working. But i don't think it related in this case anyway.. I found a jumper on the card that read "RAM" so i disabled it, but it didnt do any good. The system got somewhat slower though
Anyway that should have taken care of the memory-overlap-problem if i understand this right..? But since it didnt help that im guessing that's not the problem.
