Just checking in
« on: December 12, 2005, 05:11:55 AM »
I've been slowly working back into the Amiga after being out of the scene for a few years. I've been mostly working with AROS and my old A1200, but I'm keeping an eye on both MOS and OS4.

I never get rid of any of my old computers, so I still have:

An Atari 400, an Atari 800XE, an Amiga 500, an Amiga 3000D, an Amiga 4000D, an Amiga 1200, a CD32 + SX32, an A1000 (purchased last when I had a chance to get one cheap), a P2 400MHz, a P3 1GHz (dead), an Abit BP6 dual-Celeron 530, a dual Opteron workstation (my main system), an old HP Pavilion laptop, an ECS G320 laptop, a PowerMac 5200CD, and a G3 iMac DV+. Uh... I have more, but they're packed away. Most of the above are linked together via ethernet.

Man... I need another hub for xmas.  :-D

There's plenty of room for a regular bed. The place is rather - cluttered - though.  :-)

I gave my brother my Athlon XP 1600+ system, or that would have been in the list as well.

As far as getting the Amiga networked, the biggest problem I had was getting enough power into the A1200 to use the PCMCIA ethernet card. I really need to get one of those ATX PSU to A500/1200 adapters. I have several heavy duty ATX PSUs lying around, but had to jury rig an old 125W PSU for the A1200. I could hack and slash an ATX PSU, but I'd rather have one of those adapters.

EDIT: Oh, the SX32 is the kind w/o the 030.
