How expensive these spare parts are?  Wouldn't it be just cheaper to just buy a second hand PSP and rip it?

Yeah! You just have to hack it to run homebrewn applications.

Yep gp2x is a nice handheld but does it have enough horse power to give reasonable a500 emulation? Never tried one.
