The FPGAArcade replay board has DVI out, and I am using it with a DVI to HDMI cable into a TV. Early days, but it will give crisp pixel accurate output at standard PAL/NTSC resolution, and there is no reason the resolution cannot be scaled up.
If you forget about AUDIO and HDCP stuff then DVI and HDMI are compatible - you just need a cable with the right ends on. The advantage of using HDMI is it works at "TV" frequencies (50Hz) whereas most DVI input monitors do not and need a scan doubler.
