NoNCRScsi from Luciferin distribution
« on: February 08, 2009, 06:23:42 PM »
In Luciferin distribution, there's a module called NoNCRScsi. I wonder if it can be used to inhibit SCSI drives search on A3000 if there are no SCSI drives in the system?

Any chance of disabling 3000's WD controller then? Something like NoIDE, but for SCSI.
Or perhaps one could assemble a custom KS without SCSI module(s)?

If scsi.device is the problem then why not just delete it?

I have Buddha controller in my system, seen by 2nd.scsi.device. If I get rid of scsi.device, will I still be able to access devices on Buddha?

Thing is, I've never had any experience with putting KS in flash.

So I was brave enough to throw NoIDE into Deneb's flash. Whoa! Gone are scsi.device and long boot delay. Buddha is still here with its 2nd.scsi.device.

Thanks all!

Nice.

BTW: You don't have to be brave just to try it out. No need to flash it into the Deneb -- PsdLoadModule will work just fine for that purpose ;)

I should have known that, since I've read through the Luciferin docs! :)

Thanks Matthey,

Definitely will check these links. While I am sticking with 3.1 for now, I might want to look at 3.9 some day.
