i understand your viewpoint, but i think you're missing out based on my usage. OS4.1 was released six years ago and we've gotten free updates ever since. this release has enough feature additions, performance and stability improvements, and the like to make it worth the thirty bucks. but that's just me, i guess.
I agree, although I think what they've called it is wrong and is what is causing this perceived barrier. When you already own OS4.1, OS4.1FE does not sound like a paid upgrade - it sounds like a version of OS4.1 with all the updates that have already been released. Even though it has new features, one can't help thinking that this is something which has already been paid for.
They should have called it OS4.1.1, or OS4.1.9 or something. That way it looks like a new version, rather than just paying again for something we already have.*
* I know we're not doing that, but that's what it looks like on a quick glance.
