I'm a bit rusty when it comes to SCSI, but ISTR having a similar problem with my A1200T. IIRC I hadn't terminated the SCSI chain properly. You have to make sure the cable is terminated at both ends with the correct type of terminator - i.e. if you're using a 32 bit drive, you can't use 16 bit terminators as it would leave the upper (or lower) 16 bits unterminated. Or something ;) Basically, make sure your terminators are appropriate for the drives and controller, and make sure there's no conflict of SCSI IDs - either with other drives or with the controller itself.
