Hi,
My A600 has an 800MB HD fitted.
When I install workbench (2.05) it seems to install workbench on a partition of 6MB and then the rest on something called "work". It also calls workbench "system2.0". Is this normal?

Did you partition the hard drive prior to installing Workbench, or are you allowing the installer to partition for you? If the latter, then that is probably why the installer is creating a 6mb System partition.

I also have the 3com Lan card and a flash card. The thing is no matter what I do they won't run from workbench under the HD. They will work if you use the disks that came with them. The flash card even had an installer which still did nothing.
The drivers for both are in the Devs folder as well.
Any ideas? Maybe some startup-sequence hacking needed.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Can you go through the steps you took to install them, may give us an idea what has gone wrong.

Hi,
I let the disks do it's stuff for the HD installation.
I can't remember how to partition the HD  :-(

You need an Install disk then use HDToolBox to create the partitions. Format them with Workbench, then use the installer to copy Workbench on to the disk. DON'T let it partition automatically or it will delete the partitions you just created and make new one :-)

I booted from the HD in both instances of the PCMCIA cards.
The flash card had an installer that was on the floppy.

I physically copied the driver from the 3com disk over to the HD as it didn't have an installer. It was put in the Devs folder.

Hmmm not sure how to get the 3com working. Have you installed a TCP/IP stack?

Strangely the flash card now works if I add this to the S-Sequence:
C:Mount >NIL: Devs:DosDrivers/~(#?Info)
This was in the SS that was on the floppy.

That's not so strange. The installer probably copied a DOSDriver and a MountList over. You have to mount it to get the volume to appear on Workbench.
