How does the Amiga Forever Emulator stand in the community. Would any one recommend using it?

Thumbs up here. My 1200 is on it's way to the graveyard. Now since it's a 1200/Mediator/1260/Voodoo3/SBlaster/IDEExpress, you can see it's far from the default standard out-of-box.  Fault finding is a royal PITA.
Amithlon is currently not legally available, but AmigaForever is available either online (direct from Cloanto), or on CD-ROM (recommended).
Installation is a cinch and I upgraded mine to OS3.5, then to 3.9 without any real hassles. Add in Freewheel (Cheers Paul Gadd!) and you have full mousewheel support.
It's breathed a new lease of life into many 'suspended' projects.
Both Imagine and ImageFX are so much more useable now, I'm able to happily get back into using them again.
I know it isn't what a purist would call a real Amiga, but until the complete A1XE/OS4 combination is available, this'll do me fine.

Suit you sir? Yes indeed!!

i dont think you can go higher than 3.1 on amiga forever if i remember rightly

No, I'm afraid your memory has let you down. I'm running AmigaOS3.9BB2 right now.
The only issue I had was having to change the Volume Name (in the UAE Volume Settings) to the actual name of the disk (ie AmigaOS3.9) for the upgrades to install. Not exactly difficult.
The only outstanding issue I have now is CandyFactoryPRO. No matter how much I tried, I cannot get the 1.03b update to install correctly (this was needed to stop it from crashing on start and to correct the tabs gadget path error). Somehow I've managed to sort this out (including D/L a 'tabs.gadget' file from the net), but the problem is that I can only save in 256 colours or less  :-?
Any ideas?
