Hi,

See  http://www.eyetech.co.uk/SUPPORT/SGUIDE/BUFFE002.HTM ref info about pin 1 on the A1200 IDE header.

The colours, a cascade effect is a Bus Test which the A1260 carries out, mine does that, tis normal.

Ensure you have installed the latest ver Libraries you will need 4,

My Libs

68040.library ver 46.5

68040new.library ver 46.5

68040.old.library ver 37.30

68060.library ver 46.7

yes you will need the 040 libs as well.

I'm sorry. but, I dont have a URL for the libs, if you need them please PM me and I'll E-Mail them to you.

Also, check you have installed your SCSI Tools and run them.
