there is a new netsurf in aminet.

I think your problem(the output window) is you use powericons to show PNG Icons and have no AFA.

when you use powericons you need change the Icon Type of netsurf Icon to program.

maybe Artur use in newer versions a 256 color icon.

I also have the output window, without powerwindows or afa. I think it's just a debug window which hasn't been removed yet.
And netsurf is v1.9, btw.

look in the netsurf icon information and type.it should show program.
i get no console output.

maybe you try another icon for netsurf that is not PNG

I use the same icon for sometime now. No probs with the prev. versions. Icon is set to 'Workbench'.

I don't run afa, so i don't use png icons either.

you mean you have replace the netsurf Icon with a 256 color Icon ?
when icon is set to workbench there should no shell window open
