GP2X is a great little emulator and I'd say it has the best version of payback thats been released on any platform. I mostly use my one for mega drive emulation aswell as playing turrican, and the dizzy series on the amiga side.
I stumbled across this:
Every once in awhile I get some secrets whispered to me that I can finally pass along. Today I have confirmed that GamePark Holdings (GPH), the maker of the GP2X, is planning a new model.
This model will be called the F800 and have an 800MHz ARM processor with a 2.8 inch screen. Though low on details, it is speculated this handheld will have a rough future for it due to the changing climate in the (open source) handheld-gaming hardware arena.
Will they continue using MagicEyes hardware? Will the 2.8 inch screen be a marketing low point? Only time will tell.
Feel free to discuss and speculate via comments. I'd love to hear some opinions on whether GP2X users will stay loyal to GPH and buy something such as this F800, or look elsewhere for their homebrew gaming on the go fix.
