I love my old machines, I'm a classic guy, but it seems I'm spending more time these days with a soldering iron than playing cool games and running demos.

I hear ya... I'm down to a functional A1200, 2 CPU cards Spare parts, an A600 and a CD32.

Paying so much for all this stuff...You know for like 90% of the software an A1200 030 is just fine. I actually use and emulator on a netbook to fire up the last Amiga software  I tinker with (ImageFX).I was using the VIdeo Toaster Flyer and Lightwave on aPC so t he whole 060/ PPC.

Seemed like the day after I got the board ad whaveter small PPC software there was available  at the time the whole WarpoOS vs Phase5 nonsense started back
in the late 1990s...

I paid $750 for my A4000T it was a scala unit used on a cruise ship.
I sold my CSppc for $50 more than I paid for it in 2005. ($850)
I sold the CVPPC for $180 in 2005.

In case you are wondering, I thoroughly ruined that a1200 mobo! :(

Crap... such a shame... too bad the IDE cable got fused to the motherboard on my end. Good for parts harvesting I suppose.

I have a good setup now. I put it all in storage as I wind up spending too much time playing games and tinkering.

This whole purchase hardware, tinker with it and resell on ebay is a phenomenon I see with Toy collectors. They'll buy some hard to find toy unbox it, tinker a bit... maybe photograph it and resell it on ebay.

I tried to explain this "malody" (ha ha ) to someone in 3rd world South America and they couldn't understand it. Then we want back to dancing and enjoying life!

All roads lead to FPGA's.
We all want the Holy Grail of the 060 speed.
I favor 030 reliabiliy and compatibility with Full AGA implementation with a VGA card core.

If I want Crazy speed i'll run an emulator.

The whole OS 4 thing would be cool if there was a GOOD software emulator as good as WinUAE. Oh that and actuall hardware.

or Amithlon... Oh yea... the developer of that was replused out of the market.

I dunno. I think it's just cheaper license OS3/ 3.9 and sell a linix based x86 system that boots a minimal linux and goes straing into amiga os.

Could you please explain a little further your point?

Thanks in advance

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha had this conversation on Buneos Aires...
Well with the crisis that hit there (for folks that don't know about hte subject google Argentine economic collapse) the person I spoke to said that such adoration of antiquated hardware and toys was a waste of time and money when there are much more important things.

I explaind  that some folks get drunk or do drugs and other folks collect old hardware or toys. If it makes them happy cool.

In my case Ive since sold off much of those things and just keep 1 plus main system a spare amiga. I no longer use Amigas in my work so I'm relegated to tinkering and games. I just boxed my A1200 tho.

So what's in your collection?
Your website link doesnt work.

Ahhh you gave up an Argentine Flesh and Blood amiga for the Amiga computer? You deserve a purple heart. You aree a true Amiga warrior.

Gotta love Argentine girls, despite whatever crisis they make sure their hair is done and they have at least one pair of jeans and nice clothes to go out.

If I'm ever back in BS I'd like to visit your Amiga collection. (the computers... not the women)
