I haven't got a musical hair on my head and I know very little about OctaMed, but my daughter has the v5 manual. Here's what it says about those five digits after the note.

The first digit is the Instrument Number, which I guess you know. The next numbers are in pairs and are hexadecimal. They are called 'Player Commands'. The first pair is the 'Command Type' and the last pair is the 'Command Level'.

The first digit in the Command Level pair is called 'Level 1'. The second digit is 'Level 2'. When entering commands, you can set the Level 1 to '1' by holding down the Alt key while entering the Level 2 value in the Level 2 field.

Player commands can be split into 'Normal' commands and 'Midi' commands.

Here's a list of Command Types and their Command Level 1 and 2 effects:

00 Arpeggio          1 First Pitch 2 Second Pitch
01 Pitch Up          Slide speed
02 Pitch Down        Slide speed
03 Portamento        Pitch slide speed
04 Vibrato           1 speed    2 depth
05 Slide Pitch and Fade  fade speed
06 Vibrato and Fade      fade speed
07 Tremolo            1 speed   2 depth
08 Hold and Decay     1 decay   2 hold
09 Secondary Tempo    tempo value
0A Volume Slide         speed
0B Playing Sequence Position Jump    Position to jump to - 1
0C Set Volume           default level
0DVolume Slide          speed
0E Synth Jump           waveform sequence line number
0F Primary Tempo/Miscellaneous (lots of these) various
11 & 12 Slide pitch up and down once     speed
13 Missing?
14 Protracter style vibrato  1 speed   2 depth
15 Set Finetune         finetune vlue (signed hex)
16 Loop          number of times (00=start)
17 Missing?
18 Cut note       number of ticks
19 Sample start offset     starting byte - 256
1A and 1B Slide volume Up/Down Once     speed
1D Jump to next playing sequence entry   start line number
1E Replay line         number of times
1F Note delay and Retrigger   1 delay  2 retrig

For MIDI use, some of the above commands have different effects:

05 and 00 Controller Number and Controller Value
01 and 02 Pitchblender Up/Down        speed
03 and 13 Set Pitchblender      value (signed hex)
04 Modiulation Wheel         level ($00 - $7F)
08 Set Hold Key             1 unused    2 hold
0A Polyphonic Aftertouch     level  ($00 - $7F)
0C Set Volume
0D Channel Pressure        level ($00 - $7F)
0E Pan Control             value ($00 - $7F)
10 Send MIDI message      Message number - 1
1C Change MIDI preset     New preset number

Hope this means something!

Manual is 200+ pages so there's a lot to know!

Cheers, JaX
