someone please take pity on me
« on: December 24, 2005, 12:47:07 PM »
Hello Christmas people

I've just bought an a1200 with a hard-drive & I was wondering if someone could point me to a thread/ page that will explain how to install games currently on floppy onto this HDD, so I don't have to boot from the game disks anymore.

I know virtually nothing about Workbench and how an Amiga works, having used nothing but PCs and Macs for the past 15 yrs

Any help appreciated

Dom

PS - just remembered this exact day, Xmas Eve 1990, cycling home from a friend's house (who already had an a500) and thinking that mine was sitting under the tree... and almost getting killed by a car because I was too excited to concentrate. Happy days!

Thanks! I'll give it a whirl

Uh, I guess my next dumbass question will be 'how do I get these files from my PC to my Amiga, presupposing I don't want to fiddle for hours getting the a1200 onto my wireless network?'

Great! The a1200 is in a tower with a cd rw drive, but I didn't realise it would read PC-written discs. That's the easiest solution for me. Thanks a lot & merry Christmas!
