Problems reading burnt CD/DVD...what's wrong?
« on: January 27, 2008, 12:20:45 AM »
I am having trouble reading a CD or DVD disc on my A1200/OS4 setup. If I place a file on a disc using my PC in either single session or multi session mode, either a CD or DVD disc, and then place the disc in my Amigas DVD drive the disc is not recognised. In a shell I type CD0: and I get "Disk not present".

All my original CD and DVD discs are read and recognised fine otherwise. There are even some burnt CD's I have which work ok (burnt by someone else using another setting?). Some of the burnt ones that work are the exact brand of the ones I am having trouble burning myself and reading myself.

I've had a look in the storage draw and there is "CDMRW", "CDRW", "DVD-RW", and "DVD+RW" files there. I am unable to mount any of these as I get a "Not enough memory available" error. I have 128Mb of RAM and am trying to mount them after a fesh boot with 100Mb or so memory still free.

I am thinking there is a setting somewhere I'm missing either when burning or on the Amiga. What is wrong?

All sorted. Instead of using the default Windows burning method, I tried using Roxio Creator Basic v9 instead. Works fine. The exact problem I still don't know, but this method works...

Thanks for the help from all...
