Nice job! I did it xx times myself.:-D
But I can see that the old battery has
been leaking acid on U177.
Is the new battery still recharging?  
I'm asking this because I have had several
A4000 mobo's with the same damage on U177.
After removing the old battery and cleaning
the area around it and soldering a new battery,
it wouldn't recharge anymore.
The A4000 I own now, doesn't have that problem.
It's a Rev.D mobo with a coin type battery...

True, but that counts only for Rev.B mobo's. Rev.D mobo's
(like mine) doesn't need a diode, because they're not recharging. They left the factory with coin type battery's like the ones on PC's.
