Doctors Receptionists!
Because of a history of serious heart disease in my family, I recently had a Colesterol test. I was told that the results take a week to come back in. A week and a bit passed before I could finally go back in to collect them.
I went up to the receptionist and asked for my results, expecting to be given an envelope or a bit of paper with my results on. Instead, after the 3rd degree, she tapped something into her PC and said "Yeah, your results are in and Oooooh there're a bit high"
This wasn't said in a "bit high"-but-nothing-to-worry-about kind of way. This was "a bit high" like Base jumping is a "bit dangerous" Which was then followed up that there was a note for me to make an appointment for a "consultation".
I'd been mildly concerned about the whole thing up to this point, but now I was really worried. And I spent the whole week worrying about it.
I just got bad from said "consultation", turns out absolutely nothing wrong at all, my blood colesterol is just ever so slightly over what it should be, but well within the bounds of healthy. As I don't smoke, don't drink heavily, and eat tons of fresh veg (not so good with Fruit though), I'm completly fine, and don't even need another test for 2 years. I was told to try and lose a bit of the Xmas weight I'd put on, and given some leaflet about colesterol, that's it!
I hate doctor's receptionists!!!! :madashell:
