Is it another Chinese company that someone licensed to have boards made from a design, then plan to call it something else and charge 10X the price for?

No, it's an Italian company called ACube (hint: link in first post). The design is loosely based on the Yosemite board of AMCC. Don't confuse ACube with Troika, they play in different leagues. Well, I think Troika is dead anyway, so it doesn't really matter anymore.

How do we know that more than one Amiga-like Operating System won't be ported to it?

There hasn't been _any_ mention of _any_ Amiga or Amiga-like OS on their website in conjunction with Samantha. All that we can assume from the tests that have been published is that it runs Linux.

So I take it you'll buy it when it runs Linux and is available to end customers?

They will at least try to port os4 on it.

You're making it sound as if it was one hell of a job to port OS4 to a AMCC 440ep with Radeon Gfx. It isn't.
It doesn't matter too much if Hyperion has already ported it or not. All that matters is if they can find a license agreement with Amiga Inc.
