Elbox 1200FastATA Mk3 splitting drives!

Hmm, I thought there would be a bigger difference between FastATA MK-III and Idefix Epress.
I was first considering to get a FastATA to upgrade my Idefix Express, but after seeing these transfer rates, I think it's not worth the hassle.
I get usually get around 4.8MB/s on SFS-partitions.

I also heard frequently that the FastATA is rather unstable and difficult to fit. I prefer to have something stable and reliable.

Ok, then I'll better stay with my Idefix Express. Very reliable and reasonably fast.

No need for PIO5 anyway. Even PIO3 would probably be sufficient. Just look at the maximum transfer rates:

PIO0 - 3,3 MB/s
PIO1 - 5,2 MB/s
PIO2 - 8,3 MB/s
PIO3 - 11,1 MB/s
PIO4 - 16,6 MB/s
PIO5 - 33,3 MB/s

i wanted to get the IDEfix express, but i couldn't find anyone selling them

Amigakit is listing the Express. I got mine from Vesalia, although it says "please call" on their website (it was in stock though).
You could always ask Jens Schoenfeld directly if noone has it in stock.

I don't think they are as fast though.

The Idefix Express speed is very dependent on the bus speed of your accelerator. Jens mentioned that you actually get the highest transferrate with a 42Mhz 68030 (runs synchronous then) while the speed is rather slow with a 1260.

With my Apollo 1240/40, Idefix Express flies (around 4.8 MB/s).

Ok this is what I get in SysSpeed using Idefix Express:

CreateFile 5.58 MB/sec
WriteFile 5.95 MB/sec
ReadFile 4.63 MB/sec
RawRead 4.77 MB/sec

ts not bad results..what is price for IdeXif Exprex?I pay my MK-III on Elbox action 69eur!

Vesalia sold the Idefix Express (both 4-way adaptor and Express module) to me for EUR 46,80.
Can't complain about the price.  :-)
