Ramlib Error
« on: May 23, 2007, 03:47:11 PM »
I have just installed and partitioned an 80GB hard drive using hdtool box OS 3.9. I then copied workbench from the old hard drive onto the new one, disconnected the old hard drive and set the new one as master, but when I boot from cold I get "ramlib program failed (error #80000008) message. I have tried using emergency boot disk and can get it up and running that way but is there any way of getting it to run properly without using a boot disk and installing workbench from scratch. BTW I do not have enough power connectors to run both hard drives simultaneously along with cd rom, zip drive etc.

Cheers

one 80GB partition only?

Create a 200 MB partition at the beginning of your HD and letf the other unformatted.

Boot from the Emergency disk and then install OS3.9 from there onto the 200MB partition.

Then goto the AmigaOS 3.9 official FAQ page to iron out some problems you'll get anyway ;-) (an early OS3.9 version CD copies the wrong SetPatch f.e)

Good luck!

The new drive has 3 partitions DH0 - 10GB,DH1 - 35GB and DH2 - 31GB. HDtoolbox recognized it as a 76.3GB HD but would only give me 20GB partition so I did it manually and that sorted the partitioning problem

Thanks Guys. Repartitioned drive to DH0: 3.5GB, DH1: 41GB DH2: 31GB then copied workbench back onto DH0: and everything seems to be ticketyboo (so far)
