You did check the price of those new 68060 chips, right? :-)
I would say it was smarter to get one of those.

Heh, quick search on google gave me a comment by myself here last year that the Apollo 1240 is a dead end. Maybe it's time to prove myself wrong?
First, remove the chip and insert a socket. Doable, but tough. I have extra 68040 CPU if I muck up, maybe I should check if that one works in the Mac (which already has a socket)...
