I work at a school as an IT Technician and webmaster. I also have written and co-written a few custom apps for the school network to get jobs done that need doing.
It's the kind of job where you plod along through the day, doing what you're told to do even if it's a stupid idea... Which it usually is. There's always severe time constraints for the most ridiculous tasks and the way the network is set up is a bit of a nightmare if I'm honest, but that's due to a number of factors, two of which are RM (
http://www.rm.com for details... Not my choice, Network Managers choice and now we're stuck with it ) and money (The head isn't keen on IT.... (WHY?!?!?!)) The biggest one though was having to move the WHOLE server room in less than a week with no money for new cabling... I'm sure anyone who does networking can kind of see why that was a problem...
I'm hoping to get away from the web side of work.. it's really depressing, doing repetitive tasks day after day... an SQL query here, a bit of HTML there... boooooring!
To be honest, if I had more "get up and go" I'd probably look for another job... But I guess I'm just lazy and then complain about it
As other people have mentioned I am also into Manga and Anime and do some drawing on the side
My current car is a Mazda RX-8, 2004 plate.. I've had it just over a month now and it's a lot of fun
