A1200 giving electric shocks
« on: May 01, 2011, 04:38:34 PM »
I noticed when i was playing around with an IDE CD-ROM drive. When i touched the metal i was getting electric shocks. I was barefoot and my feet touching the ground. The shocks would either stop when i lift my feet or else when i unplug the IDE connector.

So i thought to myself the electricity is coming from the Amiga.

Confirmed, i touched the ports at the rear and same thing.

I switched off Amiga and turned off the switch on the extension cable and its still giving electric shocks. It stops when i physically unplug the PSU from the extension cable.

Other than that the Amiga works fine.

Is there any danger that the PSU might be dying and may become dangerous or ruin my A1200?
