A600 starting up with Software Failures
« on: April 18, 2011, 02:16:53 PM »
My A600 is starting to give some problems.

Sometimes when switched on it goes straight to a "Software Failure" and when i click Left mouse button it just freezes. Sometimes it manages to go to the boot screen.

Sometimes it is switched on and works fine. Most times its ok.

I also noticed that i sometimes hear a strange sound when i turn it off coming from the speakers for about half a second.

The A600 has 2MB Chip ram and Kickstart 3.1. No Hard drive (YET).

Am i looking at a faulty CAPS issue here?

Looks like it was the 1mb chip ram expansion is faulty. I switched it off and the A600 is working perfectly but of course now with only 1mb.

Will open another thread re the expansion.
