It could be bad caps.. The early 1990's was not a good time for caps and the A1200 and A600, even the Sega Game Gear are known to have issues related to the caps going bad. A typical A1200/A600 sign could be a delay when rebooting.

Well, anyone know where to get NTSC A1200 motherboards?


Cant be too much hassle to replace a few caps. I've never done it on an Amiga but i have successfully replaced the caps on a sega gamegear and that is small and i am honestly no good at soldering. If you are considering a new motherboard you have nothing to lose by attempting to replace the caps first. Just take your time and do it slowly and you should be fine.
