Possible to boot ADF's on a real Amiga?
« on: December 24, 2009, 12:31:11 PM »
I don't know if there is a software or if its even possible, but i'd love to be able to boot ADF file games on a real Amiga.

Why you say? Isnt there WHDLOAD?

Well i am a big fan of the old crack intros and id love to see them on a real Amiga and not on Winuae or Emulation and without having to write them to a real disk.

So what id like is to have some sort of ADF browsing function where u can boot them (sort of like a minimig).

I am 100% sure it can be done if it hasnt been done already.

Any thoughts?

A possibility would be a modified kickstart which loads like relokick which once rebooted would have access to a CF card or harddisk.

You could mount one with diskimage.device and then do a diskcopy to RAD:. I think that would work.

Just tried it. I mounted the ADF to AD1: and then copied it to RAD:

Mount went fine, copy went fine

But when i reset the Amiga and went into the pre-boot menu to set RAD as the only bootable drive, the Amiga just went into AmigaDOS and thats it. Nothing else.
