Judging by the question about PAL and NTSC, I think Epdon was actually asking whether an Amiga is worth getting, not Aminet. The question was a little ambiguous though

To answer your second question Epdom, yes the UK Amigas would be PAL and the US ones would be NTSC. You would need to make sure your screen was capable of displaying whichever video standard you choose.

Only you can answer the question of whether it's worth getting an Amiga. What do you intend to use it for?

No disrespect intended - I didn't know you were already an Amiga user. Your question lead me to think you were asking whether Amigas are worth getting. We all know the answer to that  :-)

Just to reiterate what cgutjahr said, the Aminet CDs themselves will work just fine on a PAL or NTSC Amiga, but if any of the software on it is specifically written for one video standard or the other you may have a problem with that specific piece of software.
