Just recently, someone else has been having trouble with UAE, so you may benefit from looking at
this thread.
From your description, it sounds like your adf image is either corrupt, or was not intended to be a bootable disk (probably the former). You may benefit from downloading it again, or getting it from a different source. You should also verify the size of the file. Each adf should most likely be 880KB in size.
