Well, I used to use a number of operating systems (mostly mac, amiga, and a bit of solaris), but always had problems sharing files, because so many people used windows. That was a primary reason for me using windows, and I have to say it's made that issue much easier, and I would not stop using windows for that reason. A lot of programs have claimed compatibility with windows apps over the years, but it never fully pans out. Always some formatting issues, or some features not supported, etc. Unfortunately, just can't avoid the fact that so many users have adopted windows. Between windows and *nix, I can do pretty much everything I need to. It's actually pretty rare for me to turn on my beloved 1200 these days, as it just doesn't do half of what I need.
edit: still hate windows though, and the security is a joke (I don't fully believe that it's just a matter of the user base. M$ coding leaves so much to be desired, in so many ways.)
