Epistula WiP - New Multi Protocol Instant Messenger
« on: July 27, 2004, 05:24:25 PM »
I've just setup a quick WiP page on my website to allow me to keep everyone up-to-date with my progress on the Instant Messenger application I'm writing.

Currently there are only a few screenshots running on OS4, but I hope to add to the features and progress reports as time, and progess,  goes on.

Have a gander at The Snakepit - Epistula  :-)

Well the screenshots were actually taken on an 68k A4000 so i guess so :-D

There will be advantages to running it on PPC OS4 though, such as application.library and AmiDock etc.

@adolescent

I'm a beta tester so I have access to the m68k parts of OS4. Well from a while back anyway. They're all PPC now and I don't have a Cyberstorm PPC :-(

@seer
The plugin system is quite flexible. Basically, each plugin is spawned from the main process and the client and plugin communicate with each other via message ports.

I suppose it would be a good idea to release some sort of SDK kit to allow others to create plugins as they see fit.
