Also, I can't help wondering if anybody has ever fallen in that machine. What kind of person does that make me?

Probably someone who watches too many horror flicks.  :egad:

People get caught in industrial machinery all the time, unfortunatly. Those warning labels are there because it happened to someone. In the Navy, all safety procedures came about because of someones mistake, often fatal.

All computers wind up in the same place. Its just crazy people like us who delay the inevitable.    :-(

Even IF you don't like the thought of throwing old dead MAC's into a grinder, at least there's other video's of stuff like cars, couches, and refridgerators getting turned into tiny little pieces.

Better melted down, and reused, than sitting in a landfill.

Well, the angle over the shredder is sorta suggestive of the inherent danger. It was my first thought too. I noticed a few of the related vids appear to be handheld from that vantage point. No way I'd trust my sense of balance that much.

Now I'm just pissed at all that waste. We're such thoughtless creatures.  :-(

If you watch some of the other videos of the bigger grinders, the camera's are on cranes, so there's nobody up there to accidentally fall in.
