I bought a brand new A1200 with internal HD linked to
a CD Rom. The problem is that when I tried to disconnect
the cables from the mainboard of the HD and the CD Rom
my loved A1200 down't boot anymore. I tried to plug the cable wich is |------------|-| in all the position but
the computer doesn't boot. I did this to learn how to install the OS on HD after a format and to learn to mount a CD Rom with IDEFix. What could be happened?
A part of this cable is a normal Cd cable while the other part has two connections and the cable of one of it is a little shorter ( maybe 44 --- 40 ) but I do not understand what to do!!!
Can anybody help me?
I would very appreciate it!

Hi Daniele. Could you be a little more clear. How were the HD and CD connected? Normally, new 1200's only come with a HD. With the addition of an IDEsplitter, a CDdrive can be connected too. What kind of CDrom is it? Internal or external? What happens when no HD or CDrom is connected.

By the way. Is this a towerized 1200 or the desktop wedge model?

Who did you buy this from? A retail store or someone on EBAY?

What's the length of the cable, by the way.
