Amiga 3000 wont detect SCSI hard drives

When I got my A3000, and a bag of 1 gig HD's later, the only way I got them to work was, one at a time, adjust the jumpers until it worked.  :-D It's frustrating, but you hit the right combination, sometimes. :-)
