I think you cant quit from WHDLoad if you have 68010, that's one, there are more I am sure.
The other way around, if you have a 68010 you can use quit key to get back to OS, it's the bog standard 68000 that can't quit to OS.
Also if using WHDLoad a 68010 is worth it if you got the chip/fast mem needed
Compatibility side, I have not experienced any issues to be honest, there are probably some but nothing that have bothered me
