I also have the PCI-E to PCI and a radeon 7770 that I do not use that I was planning to use in my sam440ep-flex but without 3D support I haven't bothered yet. I know the 7770 is overkill over the slow PCI bus but since I don't use it it's better then buying something else.

Waste to use PCI cards on PCI machines? Not really since it's faster then the old PCI cards we can use even over the PCI bus plus the large amounts of memory if able to use in the future, well if drivers get useful that is.

To TS good luck selling :)

I don't think you guys realize how poorly these cards will perform IF 3D support is ever finalized for them.
It would be nice if a reliable, more powerful PCI-e solution (than the SAM460) that cost less than the X1000 or X5000 was available.
A board similar to the SAM460, but with something like a Freescale T1042 would be nice.

As I said the PCI bus is a big bottleneck but still faster then the 9000 series PCI cards. I only bought the sam440ep-flex because I got it for a really good price and wanted to try out AOS4.x, I don't use it much enough to justify buying a more expensive machine so I do what I can with what I got.
Id rather spend that money on my other retro interests :)
