Personally I never played the first SOTB, but I do have the SOTB 3, which at the time it blew my mind. I could not believe the graphics and sound on that game.
I do have the SOTB on the LYNX, which I played for a short time. Did anyone compared both games to each other???

Have never tried the Atari Lynx version, but graphics are a lot better on the Amiga, but understandable because of the hardware and the 160 × 102 screen on the lynx. But seems to be a quite decent port, I must give it a go

This is a video which shows the differences between the different versions.

There is another which shows the different versions of SOTB2 which is even weirder. I'll try and find it. Also there is a podcast which goes through every version with the music and sound effects. It has commentary and everything.
